Researcher Story
Understanding Mallard Movement and Wintering Ecology
Researchers in Tennessee Tech’s wildlife ecology program are studying the wintering ecology of mallards and the influence of landscape connectivity on their distribution, movement, space use, and activity.
Their work draws on several large data sources, including GPS transmitter data, audio recordings, environmental information, and other field observations.
How RCD Supports the Research
Research Computing & Data provides computing resources and technical support that help the research team process and analyze datasets that would be difficult to handle efficiently on an individual workstation.
